Dr. HetlandWho Benefits from GD&T?

Design Engineers must not only be knowledgeable of the fundamental principles of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, but must also be proficient in advanced applications and analysis.

Manufacturing Engineers also need the fundamental knowledge to clearly understand what the designer is trying to say by the engineering drawing. To be efficient, they also must have a high level of competency in applications and analysis to establish process controls that will ensure conformance to engineering requirements, but do it at the least amount of cost.

Metrology Engineers, like the manufacturing engineers, need the same broad base of knowledge, except in this case, the metrology engineers need to have a clear understanding of how to approach the dimensional metrology aspects from both a "proof of compliance" as well as "manufacturing process feedback" perspective.

Focuses on you...

Public Seminars provide a well balanced overview designed to lay the foundation of implementing GD&T. IIGDT Consulting Services builds on that foundation by designing custom courses based on your production. While attending these courses, your employees will received detailed instruction and demonstrations using your drawings, CAD Models and production.

Dr. HetlandProject Specific...

Even the most seasoned engineer often discovers implementing GD&T can be a challenge. New projects often bring new challenges into your organization. These challenges can bog down the manufacturing process and lead to erroneous solutions. Dr. Hetland has worked in virtually every manufacturing environment throughout the world. This experience brings to your manufacturing department knowledge on spotting areas for improvement in interpreting and applying GD&T.

Dr. HetlandAdvanced Consulting Services...

Proper implementation of GD&T starts at the design phase. The GD&T specifications found on many drawings are often ambiguous and confusing. Dr. Hetland will work with your design team to improve on how the design and intent of the requirements can be better communicated to your manufacturing and metrology teams.
